Each year, Samantha Gasson of Bull City Farms runs a Cow Camp for children that lasts for one week. This year it ran from June 14-18. On the last day of camp, the children participated in the Central North Carolina Junior District Dairy Show. This is a big deal in this area. Children from other farms also participated. These photos, all of which were taken by my wife, Mary Anna Hovey, show the process of getting ready for the competition.
The photos are divided into roughly three groups. First, the Cow Camp children unloaded the cows. Second, they groomed the cows they were responsible for. Third, Mary Anna took a few portraits of the children. The series ends with a group shot of the children.
