For thousands of years, the Chinese have celebrated lantern festivals. The lanterns depict animals, people, and other symbols. The first photo shows the entrance to the North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival in Cary. The second set displays dragons & a lion, spiritual symbols of the Chinese people. The orange dragon is about 200' long and 40' high. Photos 8 & 9 are of a flying fairy and the symbols of wealth. The final set of photos depicts the famous terra cotta warriors. All images taken with an iphone at night on December 1, 2016.
